Acer Aspire V3-571G

While there have been a few reasonably impressive Acer laptops over the years, most target a familiar refrain: deliver better performance at a lower price than the competition. Acer manages this quite thanks to their size (e.g. large buying power) and their willingness to compromise on certain aspects of the laptop experience. Their latest Aspire V3 series does come with several noteworthy updates compared to previous value offerings, however, and the price might just scare a few of their competitors into making some much-needed improvements.

Samsung Galaxy Chat

The Galaxy series remains true to its title with the endless entries to the line, the latest of them all being the Samsung Galaxy Chat. The Galaxy Chat was announced today and is reportedly the first of its kind to feature Android 4.0 with a full QWERTY keyboard.

Though no Galaxy Nexus after all, the Galaxy Chat seems to be aimed at teenagers and social network enthusiasts weighing its low-end features. ChatOn messenger is a decorated attribute of the phone, and has a special button for itself embedded in the keypad. The Galaxy Chat pairs a 3 inch QVGA touchscreen and a QWERTY keypad and sports a 2MP rear-facing camera, driven by a 1200mAh battery. The phone has 4GB of internal storage, expandable up to 32GB and an LTE version might be in works.
