BSNL launches 3G WiFi Router for Rs 5,800

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), in association with Shyam Networks launched a 3G WiFi router, Winknet MF 50, bundled with its SIM for Rs 5,800.

R K Upadhyay, chief managing director, BSNL said, "3G WiFi Router, Winknet MF 50, will be made available from tomorrow at all the BSNL stores for Rs 5,800. It will come bundled with attractive data plans that BSNL will announce in coming days."

Winknet MF 50, 3G pocket router, will be a SIM locked router and will converts the data signal connection to WiFi, thus creating a WiFi hotspot which can be used by minimum five users simultaneously for connecting WiFi enabled devices including phones, laptops and personal computers. It offers an uploading speed of 14.4 Mbps.

Firefox Mobile OS

Mozilla is working closely with leading telecom operators and few handset makers to release the HTML5 based open source Firefox OS by early next year.

First devices to feature this firefox OS will be manufactured by TCL Communication Technology (Alcatel) and ZTE and also it is working closely with the network operators including Smart, Sprint, Telecom Italia, Telenor,etc.

Mozilla announced in its blog regarding the Firefox mobile OS.

Yes!!  You read right! You can get back your stolen mobiles as Indian government is about to start a new service called "National Mobile Property Registration". In National Telecom Policy 2012, it was one from the list.

To facilitate establishment of a National Mobile Property Registry for addressing
security, theft and other concerns including reprogramming of mobile handsets.


In this service, your details such as IMEI, Name and address details will be registered for every mobile device. So that, next time whenever they find some thief they can search particular IMEI number and can return the mobile easily. The same is already implemented in many countries. This will be most helpful for guys especially who lose their mobile:D
