Samsung Loses $12 bln Market Value after Apple's Legal Victory
Samsung Electronics shares slumped 7.5 percent on Monday, wiping more than $12 billion off the South Korean giant's market value, as a sweeping victory for Apple Inc in a US patent lawsuit raised concerns about its smartphone business - its biggest cash cow. Samsung, which says it will contest the verdict, was ordered to pay $1.05 billion in damages after a California jury found it had copied critical features of the hugely popular iPhone and iPad and could face an outright sales ban on key products.

Apple Plans To Develop an App Similar to Youtube
Beta 4 version of iOS 6 which was released to developers on Monday, has certain improvements and changes. One such change includes the absence of YouTube App. The app which came pre-installed in all the previous versions since 2007 will not be seen in iOS 6. Though the previous versions of Apple’s Operating System can continue with it. Apple told TheVerge that the reason for discontinuity is that it’s license to include YouTube in iOS has expired. But, YouTube is not banned in iOS 6, it’s just the app which will be unavailable. The users can still use it through Safari. To overcome the lack of a video-sharing app in the device, Apple is on it’s way to provide a new YouTube-like app in the App Store.

Apple to unveil iPhone 5, iPad mini on September 12 ?

Quoting “sources who have proven to be accurate in the past”, tech site iMore said, “Apple is planning to debut the new iPhone at a special event on Wednesday, 12 September 2012, with the release date to follow 9 days later on Friday, 21 September.”
Speculation that Apple will release an iPad mini has been refusing to die down, and this latest piece of news is bound to hit the rumor mills even harder. However it was widely expected that both devices would be launched in October. If both do exist however, it would most probably make sense for Apple to launch them earlier, especially as the company blamed its disappointing Q3 results on hype around the iPhone 5.

New Mac Malware Spies on You!!
SophosLabs recently received a intriguing Mac malware sample, variously known as Crisis and Morcut.
Thee're still digging into the details of the malware itself, but the delivery mechanism is interesting.
The malware package arrived in a file named AdobeFlashPlayer.jar.
JAR stands for Java Archive. JAR files, which are structurally just ZIP files with a special name, are used as a standardised way of packaging and delivering Java software.

Apple releases iOS 6 beta 2 for developers

The update brings several bug fixes and performance updates, including fixes for the Address Book, Game Center, iCloud, iMessage and FaceTime, Maps and Safari. You can find the entire exhaustive list in the source link below.
Apple admits Malware Defeat
Apple has quietly removed a statement from its website
that the Mac operating system isn’t susceptible to viruses. Apple
released a patch to a Java vulnerability that lead to the infection of
roughly 600,000 Macs with the Flashback Trojan
earlier this year, there were claims weeks later from security
researchers that hundreds of thousands of Macs were still infected.
Apple is one of the single software
companies that hasn't really faced the problem of viruses, for years
claiming their operating system is the most secure among all.
The specific language about the operating system, “It doesn’t get PC viruses” was replaced with “It’s built to be safe.” But now, Apple may be taking security threats more seriously.
