After a successful attempt at low-cost smatphones, Karbonn Mobiles has launched world’s lowest-cost Android 4.1 ‘Jelly Bean’ tablet, that features the ultra low-power MIPS-Based SoC from Ingenic. With a 7-inch Capacitive 5 Point Multi Touch Screen, a 2-megapixel front camera, support for HDMI, 32GB of expandable storage via the microSD card slot and 3G support through a USB dongle, the Smart Tab 1 caters to all your basic needs.
Priced at Rs. 6999 (approx. US$125), the tablet is available to the Indian market only via the Karbonn website, as well as numerous online portals and retail outlets in India such as Reliance Digital and Walmart. Existing Smart Tab 1 users will soon get a free upgrade to the latest Jelly Bean OS. According to the Press Relase, the Indian media tablet market is estimated to grow exponentially over the next few years with the affordable priced tablets popping up from different companies.
