In "Killing Them Softly" Brad Pitt portrays a chain- smoking, gun slinging professional enforcer by the name of Jackie Cogan.
The new film is directed by Pitt's pal and previous director Andrew Dominik, who worked with Brad in 2007 during the filming of "The Assassination of Jessie James by the Coward Robert Ford."
The plot of the Brad Pitt's "Killing Them Softly" is described as an adaptation of the George V. Higgins' novel "Cogan's Trade." Pitt's character is investigating a robbery during a mob- protected poker game.
The film also stars some recognizable goodfellas such as former "Soprano's" star James Gandolfini, Ray Liotta, who actually starred in the film "Goodfellas" as mobster Henry Hill, and Ben Mendelsohn.
Film critic Tom Charity's review of the film stated the film to be "gripping, serious and atmospheric." Claiming that Brad Pitt's "Killing Them Softly" is a captivating "crime movie that drug dealers, bankers and businessmen will understand equally well."
