Joining a rather lengthy list of iPhone 5 rumours is a video posted on Vietnamese site Tinhte.vn, of what it claims to be a pair of redesigned headphones for the iPhone 5. The video, a translation of which is available at MacRumours, talks about the redesigned pair of headphones as resembling a "horse's head" in appearance and ones with a "smaller profile" after they're worn. Among other things, the video reveals that the headphones have been manufactured at Phax Co factory in Vietnam.
The translation, on a whole reads,
"In my hands are the new earphones for the iPhone 5 that is about to come out - Apple's next generation of iPod [sic]. These will replace the current earphones that are on the market. These are manufactured at Phax Co factory in Vietnam. They have the appearance of a horse's head, not like earbuds. When they are worn, they have a much smaller profile. They have the appearance of a fully integrated, single unit - there's no part that looks like it would come apart - not like earbuds; the integrated design is characteristic of Apple products. Here I have the old earphones for comparison. The new ones are much smaller; when they are worn, they do not hurt the way earbuds do. You can see on the old ones the surface is a separate part that looks like it can be detached - not like the small surface of the new one. The old earphones were mostly made in China, with some in Vietnam. But the new ones are clearly made in Vietnam. (Reading from the wires): "Designed by Apple in California, assembled in Vietnam."
While there is no saying if these will eventually end up being the pair of headphones to accompany the iPhone 5, an official post on the Tinhte.vn goes on to add, "All factors such as design, quality finishing materials fabricated wire, plastic body headphones are led to the conclusion this is genuine and not counterfeit headphones. Moreover, if you look carefully you will see these headphones solid color, create a sense of raw blocks not separated 2 array as the old headset, a prerequisite that Apple always pursuing."
There has been a lot of talk surrounding the upcoming iPhone and one of the major features expected on the new phone was NFC capabilities. Recent images had also surfaced which pointed to the fact that a new component, which could possibly be an NFC chip, had also surfaced.
One of the biggest changes expected in the next flagship handset of Apple is that it will come equipped with a display measuring 4 inches diagonally.
If Apple adds such a display to its next iPhone, then this will be the first time it uses a display size larger than 3.5 inches. The screen size of the iPhone has remained the same since it was first launched. The resolution of the next iPhone is believed to be 1136 x 640, with the width remaining the same.
Apple is expected to launch the iPhone on the 21st of September after unveiling it on the 12th of the same month. This handset is easily one of the hottest upcoming devices of the year. Like in the past, there will be queues outside stores with eager customers seeking to purchase the handset on the first day itself.
